We Discover

We bring the Japanese and African communities closer together through activities that promote clear and profound intercultural understanding. This contributes to providing complete awareness about Africa as a continent rather than a country. This activity focuses on Africa's rich culture and its people.

Discover Africa Series

Discover Africa is a series of events organized by the ADNJ to introduce each of the 54 African countries to the Japanese public. This event is held every fourth Sunday of the month, and it is organized using social media.

Senegal, Benin, Côte d'Ivoire, Guinea, Ghana, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Gabon, Gambia, Liberia, Togo, Sierra Leone, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Algeria, D.R Congo, and Cameroon are among the 23 countries we have presented. We intend to cover all 54 African countries.

Discover African Food Series

Discover Africa Food is a collaboration between ADNJ and Kitchen SAWASAWA in Hogashi Osaka, to promote African food in Japan. This event aims to bring African and Japanese people together to eat African delicacies and promote intercultural communication. Every month, we invite people from the target country to make their local cuisine.

So far, we have promoted Tanzanian "chapati Seti", Benin's “Abobo", Senegal's "Chiepp Djann and Tuffe", Uganda's "Rolex Combo", Zimbabwe's "Mupungan Unedovi Ne Huku", Sundan's "Special Plat and Tamia Sand Plat", and Tunisia's “Couscous".
